AIR FREIGHT

Air Express Shipping to Mexico

If you're one of the hundreds of Chinese manufacturers that have opened a Mexican maquiladora in the last few years to be closer to the US market under USMCA, you already know the bottleneck isn't the factory floor — it's getting the components, tooling, and sample shipments from Shenzhen to Monterrey or Guadalajara in under a week. The "nearshoring" story is everywhere; the logistics that actually makes it work is quieter.
That's the gap our Air Express Shipping to Mexico product fills. We're Orient Globe (GES Global Logistics), a China-based international freight forwarder headquartered in Dongguan, and we've been moving cargo out of South China since 1999. We're not a Mexico shop that opened last year on the nearshoring hype — but we've been running China-to-Latin America air and express lanes long enough to know how Mexican customs actually files.

What the numbers look like

  • Transit time: 6–8 business days door-to-door, China to most Mexican metro areas — Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana, Querétaro.
  • Dispatch: cargo picked up from your supplier and dispatched within 4 working days of booking confirmation.
  • Mode: air main haul + express last mile via UPS, DHL Mexico, or Estafeta depending on the commodity and the delivery address.
  • Commodities: general non-dangerous goods plus dangerous goods (lithium batteries, small chemical shipments, UN-classified cargo), with the proper DG paperwork.

The Mexico-specific stuff that catches people out

Mexico isn't the US with a different flag. Mexican customs (Aduanas, run by the SAT) has its own quirks that trip up first-time shippers:
  • You need a Mexican importer of record. This is the one that surprises people. You can't just book a "DDP to Mexico" shipment like you would to the US or Germany — the importer on the pedimento has to be a Mexican RFC holder. If you don't have a Mexican entity or a trusted importer lined up, we'll walk you through the options before the cargo flies, not after it lands.
  • Spanish-language paperwork. The pedimento, the commercial invoice, and the packing list all need to be in the right format for Mexican customs. We've seen shipments turned back because the invoice was English-only with vague HS descriptions.
  • USMCA considerations. If your cargo is eventually going to be assembled in Mexico and re-exported to the US under USMCA rules, the way it's imported into Mexico (temporary vs permanent) matters a lot for your duty bill later. We'll flag that conversation early.
  • More inspections than US CBP. Mexican physical inspection rates are higher than you're used to, and an inspection can add 3–5 days. We price for that reality rather than promising a best-case 4-day delivery.

Who this is for

  • Chinese manufacturers nearshoring to Mexico — shipping tooling, production samples, and components to maquiladora facilities in Monterrey, Tijuana, or Querétaro.
  • Amazon.com.mx sellers doing FBA restocks from Chinese suppliers.
  • B2B exporters shipping samples or production runs to Mexican distributors.
  • Cross-border DTC brands shipping direct-to-Mexican-consumer parcels.

What's in the price

  • 24/7 support for the 14-hour time-zone overlap (we know, it's not fun).
  • Customized packaging and labeling, including Amazon.com.mx FBA prep (SKU, carton, and pallet labels).
  • Loading and unloading coordination at both ends of the flight.
  • Real-time tracking tied into the air waybill and the Mexican last-mile courier.
If your supplier can't export on their own papers, we can handle the export declaration and license piece.

How to book

Send us: the product and HS code (plus UN number if it's DG), the weight and CBM, the origin city, and the Mexican destination. We'll come back with the 6–8 day quote, a clear answer on the importer-of-record question, and whether your cargo needs temporary vs permanent import status under USMCA.
If you've been quoted "DDP to Mexico" by a forwarder who can't explain how the Mexican importer of record actually works, send us that quote. We'll show you what you're actually signing up for before the cargo leaves China.
